I went to work, went to a meeting, and made it home by seven. And it was still light out. It took all my energy NOT to grab a shovel and start doing some outside chores. Which believe you me was difficult considering that a) it was light out!, b) it was not freezing outside, and c) our fantastical Gurney’s order has been slowly trickling in.
With the weekend quickly approaching and warmer weather being predicted, I’ve got big plans for the weekend.
- Finish digging out the kitchen garden so we can put in the raised beds and start to plant things
- Work up a time line for the back garden–I’m twitching at the thought that we don’t have peas in yet
- Bring the seedlings inside for a few weeks–while the cold frame is working beautifully, it hasn’t been sunny enough to generate enough heat to get them to sprout
- Transplant all of the strawberry plants that are waiting patiently for me 🙂
